And I’m sure you’ll love the range of bedroom furniture we’re going to have a look at now from the Milton range. It’s made of solid fine-grained ash and ash veneers shown here in a natural finish. Ash is a hardwood: tough, very strong with a lovely light and contemporary colour featuring tight grain and very few knots as well. A clear laquered finish brings out the natural colour of this beautiful wood whilst adding protection to the wood as well. So let’s have a look at this stunning Milton range.
And first, we have the Milton Double Bedstead. This beautiful piece of furniture is available in a double as we have here and also in a King Size selection as well if you prefer your bed a little bigger or if you’ve got a little more room to fill. It features a pine slatted base for use with a standard size mattress and it’s delivered as well for very easy home assembly. Now, what’s lovely about this range is that each piece of furniture is handmade and it’s individual so that means that when it arrives in your home you know that you’ve got something special that nobody else has. It’s a timeless design, it’s going to age really well with your home. This is something that’s not going to go out of fashion, this is something that’s still going to look beautiful and still fit in beautifully with the look of your home in five years time, in ten years time, fifteen, twenty. People are going to talk about this furniture and wonder where you got it from. This bed in particular features a very high head end design and the beautiful tight grain of the ash wood that you can see here really symbolises the solid wood construction of this. It’s a beautiful, timeless, individual crafted piece of furniture which will look fantastic in any bedroom that you have space in.
As well as this beautiful bed, we’ve got lots of other bits to look at from the Milton range. We’ll come over now and look at the Milton 2 Door Wardrobe. The wardrobe measures a good two metres tall by just over a metre wide – plenty of space there – and features a hanging rail and adjustable shelf as well and it’s delivered for very easy home assembly. The frames and the drawer fronts of each of these pieces are made from solid ash. The larger side panels are made from ash veneers. Ash veneers mean, it’s not a corner cutting method, it’s a benefit because using veneered panels really adds strength to the construction and reduces the movements in the piece as the wood changes over time. We’ll take a look inside – it I just open it up for you – you can see there’s an aweful lot of space in there for all your clothes and bits and pieces. The rail here and the shelf here are both adjustable so if you prefer the rail to be down a little bit or perhaps you want your shelf to be a little higher to put things on. You can fit all kinds of stuff in it and it’s very adjustable which means it’s going to fit into your lifestyle for whatever you want to use this wardrobe for. Again, individual hand crafted pieces, as you can see the beauty of this wood, the grain of the wood, the solid veneer finish on it makes this a very special piece of furniture. There is a drawer, as well, down at the bottom there for extra storage space so there’s plenty of room in this wardrobe for pretty much anything you can find I’m sure.
The next thing we’re going to take a look at is the Milton 6 Drawer Chest. This lovely piece features two half drawers up here at the top and four full-width drawers below it. It comes fully assembled as well and each piece is hand built by craftsmen as we’ve said. What’s special is that it’s detailed with this exposed comb cornered joints which we’ll just take a close look at. If I pull out this drawer you can see here on the corner – that’s the comb cornered joints. It’s a feature throughout the range and not only practical – ensuring a stronger joint is found on the solid wood – but it also adds to the overall look of the piece. For me personally I think it gives a real rustic traditional look to this wood. Very, very beautiful. And the piece also has the tapered legs down at the bottom and the matching turned handles on each drawer. It’s very useful to have the two half drawers as well at the top – depending on what you want to store in this particular chest of drawers. There’s a very good capacity with each drawer – they’re very, very deep. And what’s lovely is that there’s a strong, thick base at the bottom of each drawer. If you’ve ever had before too much stuff stored in a drawer and it starts to sag, and it starts to bow – that’s not going to happen with this particular one because it’s very sturdy and very solid at the bottom. Another feature which I think is really lovely is that there are safety catches to stop the drawers being opened too far. So if you’ve ever been in a hurry and you’ve come over and you’ve pulled your drawer out very quickly and it’s all come flying out – that’s not going to happen with this particular piece of furniture because, as you can see, it only goes so far, the safety catch just stops it from being yanked out too quickly. Also, it has a very large surface space here up at the top which means there’s plenty of room for family photographs or for your ornaments as well to be stored on top of this beautiful piece of furniture.
So the final two pieces we’re going to have a look at from the Milton range are the Milton 3 Drawer Chest and the Milton 1 Drawer Nightstand. With the nightstand: it features a single drawer and a lower shelf as well for storage. On the other piece, you’re getting three very spacious drawers – again with the exposed comb cornered joints that we’ve already taken a look at – absolutely beautiful, just giving it that extra rustic feel. And also, the very thick drawer bases on both nightstands – we talked about these before – that just give that extra durabililty. And of course, both of these pieces also come fully assembled as well. There’s a nice surface space on top of both of them for storage on each nightstand.
