The unit was larger than expected, but a lovely colour and very solid. The baskets were very sturdy too. There is some variation in the wood markings but as these are individual handmade pieces that was forewarned and expected. The only downside is as I was reassembling the media items one dropped plug left an indent (so the outer wood layer is very soft). Also one piece of media kits sealed plug would not fit through the rear lead hole (and cannot be detached from the unit). So I may have to cut off the plug (and possibly invalidate the warranty) and then reattach!

I am not convinced of the finish on these products. It's acceptable, but It could be alot better. I am sure Ikea have better DIY kits.

The Cotswold Company Reply We have spoken to this customer to apologise that they are unhappy with the quality of the finish on this item, they have advised that they are pleased with the overall quality of the product but did want to raise this minor issue with us. I can confirm that this is certainly not a common issue but we will liaise with our manufacturers to ensure that this is not repeated.

Looks nice but within seconds of trying to set up a television on it, the surface had a deep scratch on it with no obvious trauma to it.
