1. MAP IT OUT<\/strong><\/h6>\n

\u201dBe bold and confident with mixing large and small scale artworks together,\u201d says Katie. \u201cStart on the floor so you can work out a pattern and check everything goes together. Leave negative wall space to allow artwork to breathe and reflect purposeful placement.\u201c<\/p>\n

2. ALL TOGETHER NOW<\/strong><\/h6>\n

When clustered together, individual artworks aren\u2018t as important as the effect of all the images together. Work around a theme to achieve a coherent look. \u201dMix in plants, dried flowers and postcards to add texture,\u201d says Katie. \u201cInclude elements that are not behind glass to add depth.\u201d<\/p>\n

Your artwork will dictate the frame you choose. Black and white photography lends itself to clean, contemporary frames in one colour, such as black. But abstract or typographic art might be best displayed in mismatched frames with different finishes.<\/p>\n

4. GOLDEN RULES<\/strong><\/h6>\n

If you\u2019re hanging one piece, make sure the shape matches the shape of the space you are filling. If you\u2018re hanging a collage, try hanging your largest piece first and work outwards from that. \u201dSwitch up the distances between the frames so that they are not all evenly spaced,\u201c says Katie.<\/p>\n

5. THINK BEYOND WALLS<\/strong>\"evesham_blush_bed_044\"<\/a><\/h6>\n

Turn the top of a chest of drawers into a display by curating a collection of objects or plants that you love. Scour second-hand shops or bring home unusual pieces from holidays to add to your collection. \u201dLean keepsakes, photos and invites on top of and in front of artwork to keep the collection feeling personal and layered,\u201d Katie advises.<\/p>\n

TOP TIP<\/strong><\/h6>\n

If you can\u2019t drill into your walls, display art by propping it against walls and you can change it as often as you like.<\/p>\n
