Find your perfect night's sleep

A great mattress is the foundation of a restful night – and we're here to help you find the one that's right for you. Whether you're looking for sink-into softness or firm support, our collection of handcrafted mattresses has been thoughtfully designed to suit different sleep preferences and bedroom styles.

Our mattress collections

We offer two distinct collections, each with its own character. The Pure Natural Collection celebrates traditional British craftsmanship, with mattresses filled with hand-teased wool from Dartmoor farms and layers of soft Egyptian cotton. From The Stow, our entry-level mattress with 1000 pocket springs, to The Dursley and The Malmesbury, each offers increasing levels of comfort and support. The British Wool Collection provides exceptional value, combining premium British wool with modern materials for a naturally breathable sleep surface.

Sizes, tensions and options

Our mattresses are available in single, double, kingsize and superking sizes, so you can find the perfect fit for your bed frame. Many of our mattresses come in a choice of tensions – medium for balanced comfort, or firm for those who prefer extra support. We also offer orthopaedic options with firmer spring units, as well as pillow top mattresses for added luxury. Spring counts range from 1000 to 2500 pocket springs, each designed to contour naturally to your body.

Handcrafted quality and natural materials

Every mattress in our collection is lovingly handcrafted in the UK by master artisans, using traditional techniques alongside modern innovation. We use only the finest natural materials – from chemical-free fabrics to hand-teased British wool and breathable cotton layers. Even the hand-tied wool tufts remain unbleached and entirely natural. This commitment to quality means you're investing in a mattress that's built to last.

Our guarantee and heritage

We stand behind our craftsmanship with generous manufacturer guarantees, ranging from six to 15 years depending on the mattress. It's all part of our promise to create furniture that lives with you, season after season. Rooted in the Cotswolds and inspired by the natural beauty around us, we're proud to offer mattresses that bring comfort and quality to your home – helping you create a bedroom that's truly yours.

What materials and fillings are used in these mattresses?

Our mattresses are crafted using premium natural materials. The Pure Natural Collection features hand-teased British wool from Dartmoor farms, soft Egyptian cotton layers, and British-made Comfort Intelligence pocket springs. Some mattresses also include hand-teased horsehair for added luxury. The British Wool Collection contains British wool, breathable polyester fibres, and pocket springs. All are finished with chemical-free woven fabrics, and even the hand-tied wool tufts are unbleached and entirely natural.

What sizes are the mattresses available in?

Our mattresses are available in single, double, kingsize and superking sizes. For detailed dimensions of each size, please visit our bed and mattress size guide.

Are the mattresses compatible with adjustable bed frames?

Our mattresses are traditionally hand-stitched and not designed to be folded, which means they aren't suitable for adjustable bed frames that require the mattress to flex or bend. They're built to sit flat on standard bed frames, providing optimal support and comfort when used as intended.

How firm are these mattresses, and are there different comfort levels available?

Our mattresses are available in a range of comfort levels to suit your preferences. The Pure Natural Collection includes medium tension options, such as The Stow, and both medium and firm tension choices in The Dursley, The Malmesbury and The Broadway ranges. The British Wool Collection offers medium tension in the Classic Comfort and Luxury Comfort mattresses, firm support in the Classic Ortho and Luxury Ortho ranges, and both standard and firm tension options in the Ultra Comfort Pillow Top range. We also offer The Stow in a firm tension for those who prefer extra support.

What are the lead times for delivery on these mattresses?

Lead times vary depending on stock availability. Many mattresses are in stock and ready for delivery within 7-10 working days. Some styles are expected in 1 week, 4 weeks, or 5 weeks. To find the specific lead time for your chosen mattress, check the product page – it displays the current stock status. Once your order is placed, we'll be in touch to arrange your delivery date. For full details on delivery options and timescales, visit our delivery information page.

How should these mattresses be cared for and maintained to ensure longevity?

To keep your mattress in the best condition, turn it over every 2 months to help the natural fillings recover, and rotate it from top to bottom every 6 months. When cleaning, use a soft brush rather than a hoover to remove dust. Please note that these mattresses are traditionally hand-stitched and shouldn't be folded in half.

What warranty or guarantee comes with these mattresses?

Our mattresses come with manufacturer guarantees ranging from 2 to 15 years, depending on the collection. The Pure Natural Collection offers 6-year, 8-year, 12-year or 15-year guarantees, whilst The British Wool Collection mattresses come with a 7-year guarantee, and the Simply Cotswold guest bed mattress has a 2-year guarantee. For full details about what's covered, please visit our guarantee page.

Are the materials used in these mattresses sustainably and ethically sourced?

Yes, we're committed to sustainable and ethical sourcing across our mattress collections. Our Pure Natural Collection mattresses are filled with hand-teased British wool from farms in Dartmoor and finished with chemical-free materials. The British Wool Collection features premium British wool, chemical-free woven fabrics, and responsibly sourced materials. All our mattresses are handcrafted in the UK by master artisans using traditional techniques, and the pocket springs are made from British steel. We design our products to be built-to-last, reflecting our commitment to sustainability and responsible craftsmanship.
