Gents Double Wardrobe

Very disappointed with the overall quality of this wardrobe given the £680 price tag. Even more disappointed to see that the price has now been reduced to £603 - just a few weeks after I purchased, and despite the fact that I have had a request for compensation turned down by the company. This item arrived completely flat-packed, despite the promise that it would be partially assembled. After a couple of hours of trying to put the wardrobe together my husband and I realised that 24 of the bolts were too short to safely fit the parts together. We called to complain and the best Cotswold could do was to send extra bolts out later in the week. They said because we had already started to build the wardrobe there was nothing they could do to compensate us for the fact that it was flat-packed (because we should have taken a photo of it in that condition before we began to assemble it). We got our own bolts from the local hardware shop and these did the trick. But when it came to fit the drawer handles we realised that the sunken holes inside the drawers were not large enough for the bolt heads to fit into - so again it was back to the hardware shop to get more bolts - this time with a smaller head. Now that the wardrobe is assembled it looks very nice, but I honestly believe it is overpriced for what it is. I have since bought a much sturdier solid oak wardrobe from Oak Furnitureland. It was better quality, heavier duty, and several hundred pounds cheaper. I feel really let down by the Cotswold Company, and won't use them again. Nicola Walmsley, Yorkshire.
