There is no wooden shelf under the baskets. So can’t be used without the baskets. Bad design flaw as if baskets get broken it will be useless. I wouldn’t have brought if I had known this.

Highly delighted with the Merchants Chest, I was kept fully informed about delivery and when it was delivered the chap was very courteous and helpful, thank you to him, it is built to a very high standard and looks superb in my room, it now houses all my wool and room looks tidy again (bonus).
