We’re introducing some of our favourite new looks and top tips to help you create your very own modern country home. Texture, depth and character are paramount, but all with some great functionality for contemporary living.
Today’s key look is…The Oakland Cupboard and Shoe Rack

Hidden Shoe Storage…

As beautiful as shoes are, get them in a bundle together in your hallway and you’ve got a recipe for mess. This handy little fold out keeps the ‘everyday’ shoes that you use all the time, stowed away neatly, but easily accessible when you’re on your way out the door.

Useful Cubby Holes…

We’ve used ours for additional shoe storage and a little stowaway for keys and post, but they’d also be great for storing other accessories like hats and scarves. If this doesn’t give you quite enough space for all your winter attire, try teaming this piece with one of our lovely wall hooks, so that you have added shelf and hanging space above.

Great Width for a Narrow Hall…

If your entrance hall is on the narrow side, this little gem is perfect for small spaces. It’s slim line in every aspect, so not only will it fit into a confined area, it’ll also get clutter out of sight, giving you even more floor space. Essential for making a small space feel bigger!

STYLING; The Perfect Telephone Spot…

The top space of our shoe storage creates the perfect spot for hosting your phone or wireless hub. We thought the beautiful warm oak grain looked great with this vintage rotary phone in forest green. There’s something incredibly satisfying about chatting into a rotary phone, they are a truly iconic piece of 20th century design. We found this one, from an antiques and collectors fair in Ardingly but you can also find them online. Choose a vibrant colour and team it up with some other items, like this ceramic pot, in a similar shade.
