6 Seater Trestle Dining Table

The table is beautiful and I am very happy with it. However getting it has been terrible. I first ordered the table on 27th February for delivery on 29th. We stayed in all day and the item didn't arrive. I contacted the cotswold co by chat and was advised the table had been on the van, but that they hadn't been sent any paperwork. The customer adviser apologised and promised delivery would happen the following Saturday. On the Thursday, I called to confirm that the delivery was definitely arriving on the Saturday and it was confirmed that it would be. On the Friday evening, I had a call from the courier to say they would not be delivering, as they did not have the table. On calling the Cotswold company, there was an apology once more and it was not apparent why the delivery company did not have the table. The customer service adviser apologised and did her utmost to arrange delivery once more, this time with a new courier. The delivery was promised on the following Tuesday before 12pm and I was given an upgrade for the courier to unpack the item and take away packaging as a gesture of goodwill. Tuesday came and no delivery by 12pm. I called Cotswold company and they called the courier, delivery was then promised between 3-4pm that day. 5pm came and no delivery. I called Cotswold company and the customer service adviser that had arranged the delivery was asked to contact me first thing the next day, which she did. On the Wednesday delivery was once more promised by 12pm. The item arrived at around 1pm - in a dirty van with one delivery driver - this did not appear to be a recognised courier company and the van otherwise appeared to be carrying beer barrels. The box was battered, wet and smelled, the driver couldn't lift the item and therefore dragged it off the van and into the communal hallway. He said he would not be able to deliver the item to my property due to stairs and dragged the item to a place to leave it. I mentioned that I had been offered delivery to my chosen room and unpacking and he said this was not possible. I wasn't able to unpack the item and lift it myself, so I had to wait 3 days, until some builders visited my property and offered to lift it to my apartment. Thankfully the table doesn't seem to be damaged, despite the packaging being in such a poor state . As yet I have not received an official apology or any gesture of goodwill, which had been mentioned several times. I have to say that the customer service advisers were excellent and tried to rectify the issue each time and I believe they did try their best to put things right. It wasn't a very impressive service to get delivery and I am upset and disappointed by this experience. This is the first time I have ordered from the company and I love the table, style and quality. I would like to order a bench and maybe another item from the range, but at the moment I am not sure I want to repeat the same experience of trying to receive the items.

Beautiful table! Have 2 matching benches. Easily seats 8. Very pleased with my purchase. Great customer service and communication from the Harrogate store. I would recommend Cotswold Company Furniture.
