From the outside, the clean lines and striking dark blue paint finish and contrasting satin lacquered oak top on this beautifully crafted piece of furniture will impress. But throw open the simply panelled doors and a whole world of versatile kitchen storage opens up in the form of shelves, racks and a drawer, ready to look after spices, packets, jars, tins and more. At the bottom, all your cutlery, utensils and tableware will find a home in the three roomy drawers with smart metal cup handles. We've even added 2 exposed lower crates, the ideal space to keep potatoes and hardy root vegetables cool, dry and away from sunlight. It looks beautiful...from a distance. I know that this larder will serve us well. It's well designed, fits into the kitchen beautifully and offers brilliant and thoughtful storage. However, we are quite disappointed by the quality, especially of the materials. Everything in blue is MDF / melamine. Everything that looks like oak, is oak - but really this is just trims (shelves, draw facias, uppermost section/lid). But there's a lot of blue...and at this price point it should be real wood. Perhaps we didn't read the description properly? The fixings are also cheap and don't feel good when you pull the doors open. They are simple to upgrade, however, and we will, but should you need to for £1.5k? Anyone buying it should know that if you mark / chip / dent any of the exterior (which WILL happen in a kitchen), you will not be able to sand it down and touch up the paint to make it look good. Also, with very strong magnets and the thin MDF doors, the whole door shakes when you pull it open (think Road Runner zooming straight into the wall with his consequent cartoon body wobble!). All in all a mixed bag. A great looking thing but it's let down by build quality and materials vs the price. One other thing -- do not underestimate how heavy it is to move. I strongly recommend not ordering until you can get the full delivery service which includes to the room of your choice and packing disposal. It arrives in two sections and delivery during covid was a very firm 'just inside the front door and nothing else'. You will need two VERY strong people to move it anywhere, even if (as we did) you unscrew the top oak trim. TBH, I don't think it should be on sale until full delivery and positioning can be offered again - it all get's pretty dangerous unless you have a lot of muscle to hand.

Love love love my new larder. The colour is a sumptuous matt blue akin to F&B Stiffkey. Quality is lovely and does not disappoint. I particularly like the contrasting wood inside for the rack and drawers. It does however, show grease marks very easily so unfortunately not very forgiving and shelf widths don’t take anything bigger than a dinner plate! That said, the positives outweigh any compromises though x10 over!
