The instructions should be revised to make it easier. Also, the fixings provided are not heavy duty enough. I instead used some Fischer Duopower (8mm with 6mm screw). This is how I mounted it which was way easier and more secure; 1. Mark the holes on the wall (230mm between vertical and 900mm between horizontal). Use a level to ensure it is straight 2. Remove the top wood shelf by simply unscrewing all the screws. This makes it way easier to put up as it reduces the weight significantly 3. Drill carefully. I recommend starting off in non hammer drill mode then use hammer to ensure a clean hole especially in the plaster part of the wall 4. Vacuum the holes to get rid of dust and then generously use grip fill with the fitting to help hold in place. Leave for few hours to set 5. Screw in the unit to the wall. Gradually tighten them in rotation, e.g. near tight bottom left, then top left...then at end fully tighten in rotation. If you have someone else to hold it great, but you can do it yourself without the shelf on 6. Screw top back on

Disappointment at seeing "Made in China" on the packaging, thought I was buying something made in good old England. The product is well made out of solid wood and looks good, however, the coat hook fixture was quite heavy, my wife and I struggled to hold it in position while fitting the screws to the wall, we are both in our seventies, I was in engineering for 47 years and thought the wall hanging arrangement should have been two brackets to fasten to the wall then just hook the rack on, on the whole we like it.

Solid and well made, came ready assembled and the delivery drivers even removed all the packaging! Tricky to fix the coat hook bit to wall as very heavy and design could be different to make it easier! Overall very pleased and fits perfectly in our hallway space!
