Unfortunately the monks bench had a couple of poorly finished joints which showed exposed wood glue, had a dinge under the lid and a small chipped piece in the backrest. Awaiting a Cotswold appointed craftsperson to undertake the callout repair and hopefully all issues will be resolved. The experience has left me somewhat annoyed as otherwise the monks bench looks great. Value for money score is projected.

This is a solid item, well made. It is very simple but does the job! The soft opening seat top makes for easy access to the storage space.
