Loved the bureau but was VERY disappointed that you could not fit an A4 books or folders in the dividers even tho the picture looks like you can. You can't shut the the bureau with A4 folder in or even an Apple notebook. For the sake of an inch on the depth it would have made a world of difference.

Looks great. Two things to look out for:
i) regarding placement in the room, the drop down top gives a load of workspace but extends out further than anticipated (the bureau replaces my Edwardian original bureau which is almost identical in design but the drop down desk is shorter). Before buying, make sure you have sufficient clearance in your intended position. Mine wouldn't clear the radiator so I have had to move the desk further out from the wall than I would have liked.
ii) You can't file A4 books or files in the top centre section because when the desk top closes back up they get in the way. The depth of the unit is insufficient to keep anything in that's more than 6 inches wide or they'll stick out and stop the lid from closing. This isn't obvious from the pictures, and is really annoying. There's not a lot that can be effectively kept between these dividers in the central section.

Top quality bureau,nicely finished and holds all of my essentials. Also, delivery info and updates were first class. We've added the audio unit to match, same excellent quality and service.
