Product has a rustic, hand-waxed finish which is then sealed in clear lacquer to provide a rich hardwearing finish. Please note that each product is constructed from solid timber, which will be inherently unique in its grain, composition and colouring. Therefore each product will have variation in its appearance.

The frame itself is really nice, smart and sold. The shelves, however, are awful. They are advertised as high quality veneers but they are definitely not high quality. The already have a slight bowing to them and you can see them bow with only slight pressure. The veneers arrived with splits to the sides on them as well. If it weren't for the fact I cannot find another bookcase somewhere else of this size, I would be returning. I have learnt that unfortunately the shelves are not covered by the warranty as well which is a shame. Cotswold have been kind enough to send new shelves as the veneers were not in a good state and have offered a goodwill gesture which is appreciated. I don't think I'll be buying other bookcases from here though I have loved all the other furniture I have bought through Cotswold.
