Cotswold Company is generally a very professional organisation as witnessed by myself and my wife on several occasions: good if not excellent product, excellent service and easy to to business with. However we all know that inevitably there will be glitches and challenges to that high reputation. Huxley bed ordered Delivery was prompt but delivery men were not as pleasant as with previous orders. Packages opened and instructions read. As an engineer they were relatively easy to follow However one has to proceed carefully: read and re read the instructions then read again. Clear the area that you intend to place your bed and vacuum thoroughly and remove any stuff from under you existing bed as it won’t fit. Now assess the task The one point is that the central slat support bar is not shown which way up it has to be though having read the instructions the holes are to be mounted uppermost as per the side bars. Follow the instructions to the letter However, check the bottom end triangular plates that accommodate the legs. Also remove any captive bolts prior to assembly. It really makes it easier, as does standing the bed on end. Best to have two people. Issue is the triangular plates may not fit in terms of bolt hole centres. So have a tool available to oval out the bolt holes on the plate(s). It took 5 people 3 hours to assemble what should have taken 2 people approx 1/12 to 2 hours. The other issue to bear in mind is close proximity of Allen head bolts to edges making tightening laborious. Remember to kappa the bolts loose until assembled then tighten all and perhaps use a cloth to gain extra purchase. Take care when assembling the slats so as not to break. My wife absolutely loves the bed having recently purchased a separate mattress. There are gaps at the corners so perhaps some cloth might help as design change. My wife called the office and explained the design issue re leg supports and the lady was so nice and offered a generous ex gratia refund. That’s where world class customer service comes to play; thank you all at Cotswold Co. A major hiccup but all is well now. Carl Jacobs

My husband and I have slept very well since receiving our bed. It is really well made and sturdy. The assembly instructions were easy to follow. Communication from the delivery company was great and I liked that I could choose which day they delivered.
