Narrow Larder with Oak Crate

We absolutely love our larder unit. It looks wonderful and is practical too. Well made and generally good value for money. Was a bit smelly at first and had to leave it open for several days but the smell then cleared. Delivery was good although some confusion about the packaging. We thought the delivery people would unpack and remove packaging but they said they didn’t do that and it wasn’t the easiest thing to do. Had we been a few years older, or had disabilities, not sure we could have done it. Then we had to dispose of the large amount of packaging. Whilst we appreciate the packaging was essential to ensure the items did not get damaged we lamented the days when furniture was wrapped in blankets and, if necessary, extra staff were deployed to ensure delivery without damage. C’est La vie. But we do love our larder unit ??

When the cabinet was delivered it was broken in multiple places, so much so that it was immediately sent back with the delivery crew. Over one week later a replacement arrived and despite it being in good condition it was missing one of the shelves. That took a week to get sent to us and so despite ordering in October with the express delivery, it has taken about 3 weeks to get a complete item in the house ready to use. Although the cabinet looks good and fits our kitchen well, I'm not entirely convinced by the whole experience for buying such an expensive piece of furniture and will probably shop around for the remaining items we are looking for.

We love this larder and it is a good quality piece of furniture, however we had real problems getting it delivered and even more annoying the fact that all my emails have gone unanswered and nobody has been in touch to apologise despite being told we would be contacted and compensated. Very poor.
