The chairs are good, but the table is not of the quality I would expect from Cotswold - parts of the surface are rough and unfinished. The care label attached to the chairs recommends rubbing them down and revarnishing them occasionally, but given that they are poly rattan, that seems unlikely - I think it only applies to the table. Which brings me to another point - the information about this set on the website is incomplete and misleading . The photos are inadequate (none of the chairs showing the cushions, for example, and no close up of the surface of the table). It says the chairs are rattan , which they are not (or at least not natural rattan), and there is no information about the material from which the table is made. More information is required if you expect people to buy online - there is no show room near me where the set can be viewed.
The Cotswold Company reply:
Dear Ann Clayden,
Thank you for taking the time to review your Withington Dining Table and chairs. At this moment in time, we only have location shots for this range as the range is new. I would like to thank you for your feedback, and this has been passed to the relevant team to look into further.
The care instructions provided would be for both the table and the chair legs as they are made from Acacia wood, and we have updated our website to reflect this. Please note the frames under the polyrattan are aluminium to give the chair a robust structure inside.
If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch on 0333 200 1725. Best wishes, Jessica Sculfor Executive Complaints Advisor
