The box is attractively designed and constructed BUT the grey patination to the bottom of the box (visible in your illustration) is unfixed and simply wipes off. We bought the box to display a small antique textile object. The powdery finish could very easily have transferred onto it which would not have been a very happy result. Fortunately we were able to clean the base back to a satisfactory aged silvery colour so now all is well.
