Where to begin.. The first delivery had a completely wrong bedside cabinet - ok fine simple pick error, we spotted it and the delivery men took it back and a replacement arranged without difficulty. When assembling the wardrobe I noticed a number of problems: all of the screws were missing from one of the side panels (presumably held together with glue and staples), one of those staples had been misplaced and went through a bolt hole (had to be bent during assembly), the inner shelf had been set such that screws went perpendicular into one another (that's a really basic carpentry error), and one of the handles had the thread stripped so simply wouldn't screw tight to the door. I emailed the company (attaching photos) they called back the next day and agreed the best solution would be to replace the entire wardrobe. I agreed asking that the replacement be thoroughly quality control checked - they assured me it would be. Things were looking better. The replacement wardrobe arrived and oh dear - nails/staples misplaced again such that they split the wood, a crack in the wood of the rear panel, and to top it off one of the mirrors was completely shattered (and there was no obvious damage to the packaging) - splinters of glass all over the floor - brilliant. It appears that despite the assurances no quality control had occurred at all. I ended up having to take screws out of one of the new panels and keeping some parts of the original and some of the replacement to eventually get a decent wardrobe. At this point we were really fed up of living out of suitcases, and having had to assemble and disassemble the wardrobe 3 times (I hasten to add that the assembly instructions are very vague and lacking detail for those of you considering putting it together yourself). In summary I think that although everything looks lovely with the Cotswold Company (very good marketing, claims of good customer service, and the quality of the wood is high) I can see the furniture is assembled fairly hastily without the care and genuine craftsmanship they otherwise suggest.
Lovely furniture draws and bedside cabinet come whole all you have to do attach the knobs. The wardrobe is a bit trickier to build, took us about 40 minutes, seems good quality but the door catches are very low quality, we plan to replace these with some magnetic ones at a later date. Delivery service was spot on
Very pleased with my new bedroom furniture it's very solid . I think it's good quality for the money. I bought 2 sets. However one of the wardrobes was damaged. There was no problem returning it and replacing it but the second one was damaged do it took 3 attempts to get it right. Think they need to improve quality control.
