I have returned a pair of these. My replacements were specially checked, the originals were not and arrived reeking of spray paint. The joints were poor. Beware the colour is more yellow than it appears on the screen.The oak bookcase I bought with my original order was a much better product, and had quality check labels. I also returned an oak laptop desk which was very poorly constructed. Quality varies.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, I apologise that the original items you ordered didn't meet what was expected as we have a lot of different quality checking procedures in place to ensure this doesn't happen. I'm glad that we managed to resolve the issue for you by exchanging the items that had faults which were all quality checked and in the condition they should be. This pre-built unit (i.e not flat-pack) is of very high quality and well constructed. Delivery was well documented with regular email updates. Since the units are not flat-packed the amount of protection for transportation has been increased - thus unit showed no damage in arrival. There are a few points to note: 1. The drawer knobs are unwaxed and do not really compliment the finish to the top surface. 2. The small support pads at the front of the drawer opening are too big and hence the metal pins foul the bottom of the drawer and create gouges. I have reduced (sanded) some of these to allow the drawers to slide freely. 2. The drawer stops (small internal wooden safety pegs on the rear of the drawer) do not function for the top 2 sets of drawers. This is a design fault rather than a manufacturing error. Caution may be needed when opening the top drawers to their full extent.

Whilst pleased that you are happy overall with your chest, I'm sorry that there are a few issues regarding the finishing of the handles, the drawer pegs and the support pads. Good solid furniture, and pleasing to look at. Our choice was governed by size and this was spot on. Packaging and Delivery to bedroom upstairs was good.
