Beautiful beside table for my son's room. The curved edges are lovely and the paint finish sublime. It's mainly pine, but think the reinforced parts may be MDF as despite being painted everywhere, there is that slight 'cut MDF/burny' type smell. I am hoping this will go away within a few weeks and it's just because it's come straight from the factory. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend on this basis therefore. We can store a lot of books in the open section, there is a great surface area for lamp, clock, drink mats etc and the drawer is a decent size too (not as smooth opening as it would be if it had runners, but not clunky by any means). Buy it!
