Normally I leave positive reviews but I have been very disappointed with the whole process and product. When I ordered and paid for the item I was told there would be a 2 week delay. 6 weeks later the item arrived. When unpacked, the item was faulty (runners hadn’t been fitted in drawers). I emailed and phoned to arrange collection and asked for a refund. Collection was arranged over the phone however, no one turned up and no email or phone call received saying why. I sent several more emails and phoned to arrange for another collection. Again a collection day was arranged but when I asked why they hadn’t collected the item before I was cut off. Still waiting for item to be collected and for refund. Very poor service particularly because the item was expensive and I expected professional service.
A beautiful piece of furniture. Well made and a good size. Only foolscap suspension files fit. Ordering and delivery were straightforward, however, no instructions in the box to tell you how to unlock the drawers. Call to the company was answered by a very pleasant customer assistant who was able to advise how to do this without speaking to technical dept. Only because other customers had called asking the same question. Poor show by The Cotswold Company that instructions not supplied and lock is so concealed that it takes tipping the cabinet against a chair and lying on the floor to find it. Not easy for people with reduced mobility.
Looks good. Initially had problems opening the top drawer, but managed after fiddling with the metal lever some more. It is a shame though that it was made in China. Hoped that it would have been made in the UK in the Cotswolds!
