Whilst compact in size, our Inglesham small bookcase is roomy enough for favourite book collections or for sitting in the kitchen to house cookery books, thanks to its adjustable shelves.
Shaped entirely by nature, no two pieces are ever the same. To preserve the oak’s natural beauty, the timber is given a whitewashed finish, hand-applied with white wax oil, enhancing the oak’s natural grain.

Although beautifully made, I am a little disappointed as the fixed middle shelf makes it very difficult to get a spacing between shelves big enough to house standard sized paperbacks in an upright position. In my option three evenly spaced shelves would be much more practical for a bookcase.

Nicely constructed, but the middle shelf really should be movable. 4 shelves means each one does not have enough room to stand any books upright. Not even small paperbacks fit.

We appreciate you flagging the shelf spacing, and completely understand the frustration if paperbacks aren't fitting upright. Just to clarify, the middle shelf on this unit is fixed rather than adjustable, as it serves a structural purpose in supporting the frame. The remaining shelves are adjustable, though we recognise that doesn't fully solve the spacing issue you've described. A well made piece of furniture. I am using it for books. My only criticism is the fixed shelf in the middle was not the best place for the sizes of books I have so I can only have 2 shelves.
