Security Information

Is my credit card information secure?

We know that when you shop online, you want to know that your name, address, credit card details and any other information you give us is kept safe and secure, and we promise to do that.

None of our customers has ever reported fraudulent use of a credit or debit card as a result of purchases made with us. Our secure server software, Thawte, encrypts all your personal information including credit or debit card number and name and address.

The encryption process takes the characters you enter and converts them into bits of code that are then securely transmitted over the internet. A closed padlock will show in your browser. This means that your personal and card details are fully encrypted, and remain secure across the internet and after they reach our order processing centre.

Email Security

Occasionally we may contact you either regarding your order from our customer service department or keeping you informed of our latest products and offers. We will only ever email you from an email address at cotswoldco.com. To be sure you have the latest offers and news directly into your inbox please add cotsops@cotswoldco.com to your address book, once you have signed up to our newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time by following the link at the bottom of the email.

How do I know the page I'm on is secure?

The portion of The Cotswold Company site we've made secure is the checkout area. This is where you actually purchase the items you've put into your shopping basket. The entire checkout process, from introduction to final confirmation, takes place in a secure environment.

There are several ways to confirm that you're in a secure area. All SSL capable browsers will show a padlock icon in the corner (often located at the bottom or top right).

The padlock tells you that the page you are viewing has a verified SSL certificate which is valid and usable, and your browser is encrypting data between your computer and our site.
