Ready assembled and really pleased with this product.
So - this Wiltshire Painted chest is an attractive item. Solid etc. But I'd imagined 'soft cream' to be less yellow than it actually is. 'Clotted cream' would be far more appropriate. Then, when it was unboxed, it left a pale yellow powder over the carpet which took several hooverings to clear up. The same happened inside some of the drawers, the powder sticking to the sweaters at the bottom of the pile. Again, it came off, but there were a few anxious moments till it did. BUT my biggest beef is that I bought it at full price = £275, paid extra for it to be brought upstairs & unboxed, but not for express delivery as I wasn't fussed about when it arrived. To my surprise, a few days after ordering, I had an email offering free express delivery as I had been 'specially selected' (or something). I thought about it, accepted & the chest was delivered a day or two later. I wish I hadn't as in hindsight it seemed like a sneaky ploy to make sure it was in situ before the weekend when the exact item was included in the 'Flash sale' - at £50 cheaper as I recall. (It's now levelled out at £249.) Would I have cancelled it & re-ordered if I'd had the chance? You bet I would (I've had to cancel orders before for different reasons, so can't imagine it would have been a problem.) I totally accept that it's the luck of the draw when it comes to variations in price. What I do object to is the devious way in which I appear to have been manipulated. As I've already said, I chose regular delivery for a reason, so even if the offer of express was meant simply as a sop, I would have preferred to have been given the choice. Moral of the story? I won't be buying full price from Cotswold again.

I am very sorry to hear that you feel that you have been manipulated and I can assure you that this isn't the case. Free express delivery is randomly selected for certain customers and is entirely optional, this unfortunately appears to have coincided with a reduction in the product ordered which came about as the product was being discontinued. If you were to place a future order we could certainly look into giving you a reduction in price for the issues experienced with this order. I was extremely disappointed with this. When the product arrived, it was very apparent how poor the build quality was and there had clearly been no quality control before it was despatched. In addition, despite the goods being faulty, I was not reimbursed for all of my initial delivery costs, although I will say that I didn't have any issues with being able to return the item or with receiving a refund for the price of the product.
