Oakland Rustic Oak
New 6ft Super King Bed

Having taken delivery of our new Oakland Rustic Oak bed on unpacking and assembling it we were hugely disappointed by the colour. It is YELLOW! This is not the colour of oak we were expecting. It is not what we would describe as Rustic. It is more the colour of 70's yellow office furniture. I attach pictures, note the colour contrast between the varnished/stained bed end and the central slat. Also the screws supplied to secure the central slat were of no use because there were screws in the way running in the other direction. Considering the cost of the bed we feel agrieved that it fails to meet our expectations. Quality control clearly failed to be adhered to by the manufacturer and as it probably came direct from them, Oakland have no opportunity to see the product in reality. We waited a long time for the bed to come in stock only to be disappointed. We feel that there is little point in returning it as there is no guarantee that the colour will be any better on a replacement. We have had your furniture in the past and have been very happy with it. As stated the colour of the bed comes as real disappointment.

I am super pleased with the bed; however, your delivery leaves a lot to be desired. I paid an extra £45 to secure a time of choice delivery and I chose between 3 and 8pm. I chose this time specifically because we were moving into the property on that day, and I wanted to ensure that we would be available to accept delivery. At around 12 mid-day I received a call from a very nice Cotswold Company Delivery man named Jerome who informed me that he and his colleague George were outside 12 Abingdon Drive Ruddington Nottingham waiting to deliver and assemble my new bed. At this point we were still in our old property in Nuneaton, Warwickshire and had not yet obtained the keys for our new property. Jerome telephoned you to inform you of the situation and you then telephoned me back to say that the delivery was booked for between 3-5 not 3-8. The delivery guys were instructed to stay outside the property until 3pm. The delivery was most certainly booked for between 3-8 I have the email confirmation to prove this. Jerome had nothing on his delivery instructions to mention a specified time slot. We had to leave our removal guys in the old property to drive to Ruddington to try to sort out keys, I spoke again to Jerome because we were told the keys would not be released until around 3.45pm and asked him to please wait and he thankfully agreed. We got the keys at 3.30 and went straight to let them in. What should have been a very pleasant experience turned out to be a stressful nightmare on top of the stress of moving anyway. If it wasn’t for Jerome and George I doubt if I would ever purchase anything from your company again they were both super nice and extremely helpful so I hope that they are appreciated.
